Barbara Pravi « Dalida, Diva Tzigane »

On October 15, 2026, at the Centre des bords de Marne in Le Perreux‑sur‑Marne, Barbara Pravi pays tribute to Dalida with Dalida, Gypsy Diva. A singer‑songwriter and performer, she takes on the icon’s repertoire, filtering it through her Iranian and Serbian roots. She explores these songs from the point of view of the women who inhabit them—between a desire for emancipation and solidarity—and renders the texts with a fresh, direct approach grounded in the language.

On stage she is joined by the Balkan quartet Aälma Dili: Emilio Castiello (violin, mandolin), Clément Oury (violin), Gabriel Seyer (double bass), and Lautaro Marulanda (guitar). Their Romani‑inflected sound brings unexpected colors to Dalida’s melodies, far from the disco or piano‑and‑voice arrangements one might expect. Taut strings, a vibrating double bass and a guitar that pushes the tempo create a spare setting in which Pravi’s voice flows freely. Conceived as a dialogue between the Mediterranean and the Balkans, popular memory and the present, this concert offers a rediscovery of Dalida’s repertoire, with the energy of a finely honed string ensemble and Barbara Pravi’s contemporary outlook.
