Médine « Enfants du destin »

On March 26, 2027, at the Maison de la Culture in Clermont-Ferrand, Médine revisits Enfants du destin, a series of pieces born in 2004 in which he recounts the trajectories of children swept up by the upheavals of history. In an intimate, acoustic stage format, the rapper becomes a storyteller: supported by Guillaume Zolnierowsky’s piano and guitar and by Shéhérazade’s voice and cello, he breathes life into David, Souhan, Kunta Kinte, Nour and Yasser. Behind the words are faces, first names, childhoods interrupted by colonization, war, slavery and oppression.

On stage, Karinale Lo van Zaouiche intervenes in subtle touches, opens fissures and inserts dialogued interludes in which voices circulate and question. The narrative slips from past to present, without didacticism, making yesterday’s violences resonate with those of today. Between concert and theatre, this hybrid offering makes room for listening, doubt and memory, allowing time to look the world squarely in the face.
