Calva Louise

Born on the London underground scene, Calva Louise arrives at La Coopérative de Mai, Clermont-Ferrand, on 25 October 2026. Led by the vision of Jess Allanic, the band brings together backgrounds from Venezuela, France and New Zealand within a British lineup that readily blurs the boundaries.

On stage, Calva Louise crosses alternative rock, post-hardcore and edgy punk, inserting riffs close to metal and electronic textures, and develops its songs between catchy melodies and more abrasive passages. Razor-sharp guitars, precise vocals, taut rhythms and sweeping synth layers structure a set conceived as a succession of energy peaks and moments of breathing space, with a precise songwriting that changes skin without losing its thread.

The band has forged a solid live track record between London clubs and festivals such as Reading & Leeds, Download, 2000trees, SXSW and Riot Fest, and has toured with Bloodywood, Slothrust, Boston Manor, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and Albert Hammond Jr. Their self-produced mixtape Over The Threshold (2023) and its visual counterpart extend a DIY aesthetic that carries the music into its imagery, and point to a tense, direct and uncompromising show.
