On 2 March 2027, Draconian, Saturnus and Ann My Guard will take over the Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette for a dive into the slow, dark realms of metal.
Formed in Sweden in the mid-1990s, Draconian moves between melodic death-doom and gothic metal. Restrained tempos, thick guitars, sweeping keyboard layers and the contrast between a rough male voice and a clear female singing voice: the band's trademark. From early records Where Lovers Mourn and Arcane Rain Fell to Under a Godless Veil, the group has honed a spacious songwriting approach that sits between heaviness and melody.
From Copenhagen, Saturnus has, since the 1990s, built a melodic doom characterized by plaintive guitars and deep vocals that alternate between growls, clean singing and spoken passages. Long compositions, atmospheric breaths and marked dynamics structure a repertoire recently extended by The Storm Within, where themes of loss and spirituality remain central.
Led by singer-songwriter Eszter Anna Baumann, Ann My Guard links its metal origins to a more stripped-back aesthetic. With She of the Sea and Stars (2025), the project explores a semi-acoustic facet nourished by darkwave, gothic rock and dark pop, combining new songs and reinterpretations while maintaining an introspective songwriting thread.
