Info
On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Halle Tropisme in Montpellier, Baile Sound Sistema returns with an edition focused on the circulations between Lisbon, the South Atlantic and today’s clubs. Conceived as a dance space, the project blends bass, Afro‑Lusophone grooves, funk carioca, Angolan syncopations and electronic textures, continuing the bridges woven since its beginnings between Europe, Brazil and Africa.
Branko leads the evening among the guests. A Lisbon producer and founding member of Buraka Som Sistema, he championed tracks like “Wegue Wegue” and “Sound of Kuduro” with M.I.A., before co‑founding Enchufada, a label dedicated to global club sounds. As a solo artist he develops a fluid, rhythm‑driven style marked by crisp percussion and sung melodies, connected to Afro‑diasporic scenes. He appears on credits for M.I.A., Princess Nokia, Pierre Kwenders, Sango and Mr. Carmack, and is also the creator of Club Atlas, a series exploring links between Lisbon and other local scenes.
AL3PH extends this south‑to‑south dialogue. A musician, producer and director, he moves between the Afrofuturist scenes of Dakar, Rio and several European venues, combining funk carioca, Angolan pulses and electronic textures in a groove‑oriented language. His sound system has already brought together Batida, Jimena Ángel, Ibaaku, Guts and Vhoor. He is also behind an album with ‘Magic’ Malik and collaborations with La Yegros, Flavia Coelho and iZem. Alongside him, Brazilian Dan’ Ilê — MC, producer, composer, singer and multi‑instrumentalist — anchors the set in rap, samba, maracatu, capoeira and the energy of sound systems.
