On July 4, 2026, Midway Music Hall in Edmonton hosts BlackHawk. Born in the early 90s Nashville scene around singer-guitarist Henry Paul with songwriters Van Stephenson and Dave Robbins, the band built a harmony‑driven country sound that leans into country rock with pop edges. Three voices up front, acoustic and electric guitars intertwined, and melody‑focused writing with stories that feel personal and grounded: that recipe shaped their self‑titled 1994 debut, then Strong Enough (1995) and Love & Gravity (1997). After Stephenson’s passing, BlackHawk kept going with a refreshed lineup, releasing Spirit Dancer (2002) and Brothers of the Southland (2014) while staying active on the road. Guided by Paul’s experience, also linked to The Outlaws, the show draws a line through the band’s catalogue from the 90s to today, balancing tight vocal blends, ringing guitars and straight‑ahead songwriting.
