Angine de Poitrine

Angine de Poitrine lands at The Pearl in Vancouver, Canada, on August 24, 2026. Under this name, Klek and Khn de Poitrine shape an instrumental duo founded in 2023 in Quebec. Their writing moves between experimental rock, math rock and an angular post-punk vocabulary, powered by a repetitive engine that borrows construction principles from certain strains of techno. Pieces grow and recede through short motifs stacked then stripped back: a dry, precise drum sound; microtonal guitar and bass lines; chromatic phrases that slip tension into often asymmetrical forms. With no vocals, the pair leans on motion, variation and rhythmic displacement, keeping the music tight, jolting and close to the body.

After releasing Vol. 1 in 2024, the project circulated quickly on Quebec stages, including a stop at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. On stage, patterns mutate, grooves shift underfoot and repetition turns into a living process, balancing energy from rock with a minimal, evolving sense of cycle.
