Ne-Yo and Akon bring the Nights Like This Tour to Toronto on August 2, 2026 at RBC Amphitheatre. A joint bill cut for R&B heads and pop-rap fans, built around melodic hooks, mid-tempo grooves and club-minded edges that shaped the 2000s and beyond.
Ne-Yo steps in as the songwriter-turned-frontman who broke through with In My Own Words, then refined his mix of soul-inflected R&B and pop on Because of You and Year of the Gentleman. Across Libra Scale, R.E.D., Non-Fiction, Good Man and Self Explanatory, he folds in dance and electronic textures without dropping his tight storytelling on love and relationships. On stage, he moves between slow-burn ballads and polished uptempo cuts, the bridge between crooner and modern hitmaker.
Akon brings a transatlantic pulse, from Trouble and Konvicted to Freedom, where his autotuned melodies and R&B/hip-hop roots opened to pop and dance. Later projects El Negreeto and Akonda push further into afro-pop and global rhythms, echoing a career spent writing, producing and scouting new voices. Live, he toggles from early 2000s singalongs to brisk, percussive tracks built for movement.
