Polynation

Polynation, a Dutch music duo known for their blend of electronica, ambient and world music, perform on festival stages, club dancefloors and in listeners’ homes. Their organic and cinematic sound stems from live improvisation, laying the foundation for meticulously crafted studio tracks and live performances.

Bonding over melancholic chord progressions, driving rhythms and electroacoustic textures, the duo’s soundtracks are crafted as sensory experiences. Whether on record or playing live, their music draws from ambient, pop, minimalism and techno.

Collaborating with Dutch label Atomnation since 2015, Stijn Hosman and Hessel Stuut have released three EPs and their debut album, Igneous. They have also remixed Joep Beving on Deutsche Grammophon.

Polynation’s live performances have appeared at festivals such as Best Kept Secret, Wildeburg, Secret Garden Festival, ADE and DGTL, and in clubs across Europe.

They use a wide array of tools including drums, analogue synths, piano, kalimba, bass and electric guitar, as well as pedals, tape delays and sax. Those acoustic sources, blended with electronic signals, lend their material a distinct quality.
