Luc Langevin - L'illusionniste

On 17 February 2027 at the Zénith in Strasbourg, Luc Langevin returns with L’illusionniste, his fourth show. The Quebec illusionist presents a series of large-scale illusions conceived and fine-tuned in collaboration with his long-time partner, magician Stéphane Bourgoin. On stage, the precision of the mechanisms answers a narrative that explores the tension between head and heart, the common thread of a show conceived as a journey into our perceptions.

Appearances, disappearances and transformations follow one another in meticulously constructed tableaux, supported by careful work on lighting and music. Rather than resorting to flashy showmanship, Langevin plays on incongruity, plants doubt and invites the audience to see what happens before their eyes in a different way. Each act fits into a clear progression in which detail matters as much as the effect, shaping a deliberately crafted universe conducive to escape. It is a proposal in which magic does not merely astonish but tells a story and questions our relationship to reality.
