Info
On March 6, 2027, at the Arkea Arena in Floirac, “The Music of John Williams & Hans Zimmer” in symphonic concert brought together more than 70 musicians from the Yellow Socks Orchestra, conducted by Nicolas Simon. On the program were scores that left their mark on the big screen: Interstellar, Jurassic Park, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter, Inception, Star Wars, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The orchestra presented these familiar themes in a fully live performance.
John Williams restored the orchestra to the heart of cinema from the 1970s onward. A close collaborator of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, he composed the scores for E.T., Jaws, Indiana Jones, as well as the Star Wars and Harry Potter sagas. His clear, instantly recognizable melodies, carried by precise orchestration, take on a special resonance in the concert hall. Rewarded with 5 Oscars and 54 nominations, he defined a symphonic grammar that has become a reference for several generations.
Hans Zimmer, a German composer based in Los Angeles, has developed a hybrid language that blends orchestral sections, electronic textures and driving rhythmic pulses. He is responsible for scores such as Gladiator, The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception and Interstellar, often in collaboration with Christopher Nolan or Ridley Scott. A two-time Oscar winner, he shapes broad, immersive soundscapes that the orchestra here translates with stage-ready energy.
