Anestesia

Anestesia arrives on 24 October 2026 at l’Atabal, Biarritz. Born in Zarautz in 1988, the band draws a taut line between crossover thrash, hardcore punk and metal, with sharp riffs, nervy tempos and vocals now rooted in Euskera (the Basque language). Initially singing in Spanish on their early demos, Anestesia quickly shifted to Basque — a deliberate choice from the EP Toki Berean (1991) and continued on Gorrotoaren Ahotsa (1993), Erantzun (1995), Gu (1997) and Ultra-komunikatzen (2000). Linked to the Basque alternative scene of the 1990s around the Esan Ozenki label, the project led by guitarist-vocalist Mikel Kazalis moves forward in cycles without losing its core sound.

Back in action with Terapia (2006) and Zirkulutik Espiralera (2015), Anestesia preserves a compact, abrasive writing style designed for live performance: short formats, blunt attacks, and a hardcore tension that grips thrash’s cutting edge. In Biarritz, the band puts Euskera back at the center of the breaks and choruses for a direct, no-nonsense set, true to its Basque roots and a stage energy that eschews showmanship.
