Info
The Stranglers set down their suitcases in Penmarc’h on 21 November 2026, at Salle Cap Caval. Born in the ferment of the 1970s punk scene yet quickly standing apart, they built a sound like no other: Jean‑Jacques Burnel’s muscular bass, dark keyboards, direct melodies and a new-wave tension. In the space of thirteen months they put out Rattus Norvegicus, No More Heroes and Black and White, then wrote songs that became landmarks — from Peaches and No More Heroes to Walk On By, Golden Brown, Always the Sun and Strange Little Girl. On stage the band moves through six decades without a false note, alternating nervous, high-energy numbers with more melodic respites, with that mix of roughness and elegance that defines them. Deep vocals, razor‑tight basslines, waves of keyboards and cutting riffs: everything is there to show why their repertoire still holds up, from yesterday’s clubs to today’s venues. In Penmarc’h, The Stranglers deliver a set that links their beginnings to more recent material — no posturing, just the sound and the attitude.
