Jeremy Pelt Quartet

On 7 July 2026 at the Sunset Sunside in Paris, the Jeremy Pelt Quartet performs acoustic jazz conceived for musical exchange. A Californian trumpeter trained at Berklee and now based in New York, Jeremy Pelt belongs to the hard bop and post‑bop tradition, with clean phrasing, a dense tone and a taste for clear melodic lines. On stage, his quartet balances written themes with spaces for improvisation where interaction is paramount: close-knit dialogue, rhythmic cues, and choruses that allow room to breathe.

You can hear echoes of a career that includes the Mingus Big Band and collaborations with Jimmy Heath, Vincent Herring and Ravi Coltrane, as well as a leader’s work nourished by albums such as Profile, Identity, Men of Honor, The Art of Intimacy, Volume 1 and Griot: This Is Important!. Between restrained-tempo ballads and more urgent, energetic pieces, the trumpet guides the narrative, supported by an attentive rhythm section and a responsive piano, for a set in which composition, improvisation and group interaction advance in concert.
