DJ Krush

On October 13, 2026, at Le Transbordeur in Villeurbanne, DJ Krush unfolds a trajectory that began in 1980s Tokyo, when the film Wild Style anchored him in hip‑hop culture. Having come up in breakdance crews and then the Krush Posse collective, he was an early pioneer in using turntables as a live instrument and forged a signature of slow or fractured beats, dark textures, dub echoes and ambient pads, nourished by jazz and soul. From his early landmarks Krush (1994), Strictly Turntablized and Meiso (1995) to Ki‑Oku with Toshinori Kondo, then Kakusei, Zen and Jaku, his path moves between groove and contemplation at the crossroads of trip‑hop, abstract hip‑hop and downtempo tempos.

Since Butterfly Effect (2015), Kiseki (2017), Cosmic Yard (2018) and Trickster (2020), Saisei (2024) opens a new chapter as an independent artist, conceived as a reconstruction and a rebirth. On stage, DJ Krush weaves a seamless narrative where deep bass, grainy loops and rhythmic breaks gradually set the scene, blending classics and unreleased material, with tracks announced for his next album. A guest artist will complete the evening.
