Placebo

Thirty years after their debut album, Placebo return with RE:CREATED, a stage reworking of the 1996 record that introduced them. At the height of Britpop, the band presented a raw sound and lyrics that probed identity, sexuality and alienation. Nancy Boy and 36 Degrees crystallized that signature. With RE:CREATED, Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal do not simply play the album back verbatim: they reopened the tracks, reworked the arrangements and injected the live experience they have accumulated to make the DNA of the first record converse with their current musical present.

On 9 October 2026 at the Rockhal, Placebo will put this repertoire to the test on stage, drawing a line between 1996 and today. The set promises to be a back-and-forth between memory and the contemporary, without nostalgic winks, featuring versions rethought for today’s stage. It will be an opportunity to hear these songs in a tightened, direct form, where the energy of their early days meets the sound the band has refined over the years.
