Sidiki Diabaté

At Le Zénith d’Orléans on April 24, 2027, Sidiki Diabaté makes the kora he has inherited the mastery of resonate — son of Toumani and custodian of a lineage of griots from the Mande tradition. Born in Bamako in 1992, he first forged a style rooted in tradition before opening his palette to a Manding pop that is receptive to Afro rhythms and West African urban productions. An instrumentalist, singer and producer, he works across several terrains while never letting go of the kora, sometimes brought to the forefront, sometimes blended into a more contemporary aesthetic.

On stage, his repertoire alternates between instrumental pieces and more direct, voice-centered songs, with clear melodies and danceable arrangements. The album Toumani & Sidiki (2014), recorded with his father, laid an acoustic foundation from which he broadened his scope: collaborations with rap and regional afropop artists, shorter formats, and immediate hooks. Between griot heritage and today’s sounds, his live show weaves kora motifs, percussion and modern beats to speak as much to lovers of Mande music as to the curious ears of urban audiences.
