Planet Funk

On 20 May 2026 at Gretchen, Berlin, Planet Funk take the stage with the collective spirit that has shaped their sound since 1999. Born in Italy around Alex Neri, Marco Baroni, Sergio Della Monica, Domenico GG Canu and singer Alex Uhlmann, the project moves at the junction of club culture, pop songwriting and rock tension. The breakthrough single Chase the Sun set the tone: supple electronics, assertive basslines, guitar edges and choruses carried by shifting voices.

Over the years, Planet Funk have worked with singers like Dan Black and Sally Doherty, keeping a flexible line-up that suits both studio craft and live energy. Albums such as Non Zero Sumness (2002), The Illogical Consequence (2005) and The Great Shake (2011) trace a path between electro, alternative dance, synth-pop and electronic rock. On stage, the group tightens grooves and melodies into tracks built for movement without losing their song-first approach, a balance that keeps their set direct, rhythmic and instantly readable for the floor.
