On 21 November 2026 at La Laiterie in Strasbourg, Zoufris Maracas presents a journey through their militant world music. At the center are Vin’s and Micho, friends since adolescence, who shaped their songwriting during a trip through Niger and Burkina Faso. Back in Paris in 2007, with few resources but plenty of drive, songs were born in the metro, the street became their stage, and meetings followed one another. An initial surge in 2008, then an invitation from La Rue Kétanou to share the stage opened the path to festivals. The lineup expanded with François Causse, Brice and Mike, and their “poetry of defiance” took shape, carried by rhythms drawn from African percussion and the spirit of the French chanson. In 2012 their first album, Prison Dorée, was released. In Strasbourg, the band brings together songs crafted for live performance, between wandering melodies and lyrics that regard the world at human scale.
