pølaroit returns to Microdosis. After an initial performance, the German duo comes back with a proposal in which time and place intertwine in every production. Their name — half polar, half Detroit — sums up the essence of their project: northern roots, a global outlook, and a melodic electronic sensitivity.

The project was born from the meeting of Jonas, a pianist influenced by Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnalds, and Marius, a drummer trained in the urban electronic scene. From that first improvised session in Hanover, their blend of melancholic piano and organic beats defined a distinctive sound that took shape on the EP "expedition into."

Since then they have worked with labels such as Deutsche Grammophon, Ki Records and Stil vor Talent, as well as on their project with Cercle — including the recording in India for "Backwaters" — and their collaboration with MEUTE on "Verden," which reaffirms their ability to bring together the acoustic, the electronic and the organic.

For pølaroit, each piece is a snapshot: a captured moment. They therefore integrate field recordings, voices and natural textures, allowing their music to breathe both humanity and precision in equal measure.
