Hombres G « Los Mejores Años de nuestra vida »

Hombres G arrive at Área 12 (Alicante) on August 29, 2026 with “Los Mejores Años de Nuestra Vida” (“The Best Years of Our Lives”), a retrospective of a career that began in Madrid in 1982 in the midst of the Movida. Fronted by David Summers —vocals and bass— they are joined by Rafa Gutiérrez and Dani Mezquita on guitars and Javier Molina on drums. From the outset, their pop-rock with clear melodies, tinged with new wave and pop-punk echoes, has been rooted in everyday adolescent stories, humor, and romantic entanglements. Records such as Hombres G (1985), La cagaste… Burt Lancaster (1986) and Estamos locos… ¿o qué? (1987) carried them from Spanish venues to tours across Latin America, and their Spanish-language rock craze also left its mark on cinema in the late 1980s.

After their 1992 pause, the band returned in 2002 and alternated studio work and touring with Todo esto es muy extraño (2004), 10 (2007), Desayuno continental (2010), the collaborative acoustic project En la playa (2011) and Resurrección (2019). Today they retain direct pop structures, an accessible rock drive, and songwriting that sits between nostalgia, romantic comedy and everyday observation. In this concert, the quartet mixes songs from their early stages with more recent material, faithful to the energy that has accompanied them decade after decade.
