Info
On May 16, 2026 at HeadQuarters in Aarhus, Duke Garwood brings a stripped-back take on blues and folk to the room. The London guitarist and multi-instrumentalist has been carving this line since the mid-2000s, favouring repetitive motifs, bare arrangements and a deep, near-whispered voice. From Holy Week and Emerald Palace to The Sand That Falls, he set the tone; Dreamboatsafari pushed towards slower, more atmospheric spaces, then Heavy Love and Garden of Ashes refined that minimal blend with a faint desert hue.
Garwood’s long-running dialogue with Mark Lanegan (Black Pudding, With Animals) sharpened a taste for simple structures, grainy guitar textures and held-back tension. On stage, that language turns into lean songs that drift and coil, sliding between haunted folk figures and blues phrases that leave air around each note. You might catch shades of his work with Archie Bronson Outfit, or the nocturnal ambience he fed into The Orb and UNKLE, without losing the core: a focused, spacious sound world carried by guitar, breath and pulse.
