The Minneapolis duo pairs Slug’s candid storytelling and conversational flow with Ant’s warm, melodic boom bap, tracing a line from the mid-90s to today. From Overcast! and God Loves Ugly through Seven’s Travels, You Can’t Imagine How Much Fun We’re Having and When Life Gives You Lemons, their catalogue maps everyday dramas, relationships and the push-and-pull of growing up in public. Later chapters like The Family Sign, Southsiders, Fishing Blues, Mi Vida Local and So Many Other Realities Exist Simultaneously keep that focus, with production built on soulful textures, dusty loops and drums that leave space for the narrative.
