Info

On April 23, 2026 at Tapperiet in Køge, Ibrahim Electric brings its Copenhagen-born, organ-led trio sound to the stage. Active since the early 2000s, the group—drummer Stefan Pasborg, organist Jeppe Tuxen and guitarist Niclas Knudsen—shapes a mix of jazz, funk, afrobeat, soul-jazz and a touch of surf. The recipe is collective improvisation, quick tempos and tight interplay, with the warmth of a vintage Hammond set against a direct, almost rock-like drive.

Formed in 2002 around a conservatory concert, the lineup has never changed. A self-titled debut in 2004 led to two albums with US trombonist Ray Anderson in 2005 and 2007, then a run that maps their evolution: Absinthe, Brothers of Utopia, Royal Air Maroc, Isle of Men, Rumours from Outer Space, The Marathon Concert, The X-Mas Album, Time Machine. On stage, that history condenses into dense grooves, elastic riffs and sharp turns that move from afrobeat pulses to surf-tinged motifs without losing the pocket. Years on European jazz circuits and tours across the Americas, North Africa and Asia feed a live set where the trio stretches themes, locks into hypnotic patterns and lets the organ-guitar-drum triangle do the talking.
