Metric push a synth-driven indie rock that threads new wave pulses with angular guitars, centered on Emily Haines’ clear melodies and James Shaw’s taut production. From Fantasies to the Formentera records, their catalog balances electronic textures and rock urgency, built on direct verse-chorus structures that hit with precision on stage.
Broken Social Scene arrive as a fluid collective around Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning, shifting lineups to suit songs that stretch from hushed motifs to full-band swells.
