Info
On 21 April 2026 at La Boule Noire in Paris’s 18th arrondissement, the Lo‑Fi Festival brought together a new wave of beatmakers for an evening centered on instrumental hip‑hop. There were no verses or choruses here, only muted textures, jazz loops, dusty kicks and analog grit that make listeners nod along. The event highlighted the lo‑fi scene as it is experienced live, amid machines, MPCs and the SP‑404.
On the bill were six artists with complementary approaches. Mayaewk delivers precise, cinematic productions. Swiss artist Flandrs shapes beats with a subtle swing and well‑worn samples. Tohaj navigates between boom‑bap intensity and textured minimalism, while isaintjames attends to detail and the music’s breathing. Croupnoop provides cool, low‑tempo grooves conceived for deep listening. TSY rounds out the line‑up with spare instrumentals that play on repetition and nuance. A collective passage through lo‑fi culture, carried by producers who tell full stories in just a few bars.
