Syd Matters

Syd Matters marks its return with new songs from a fifth album announced for September 2026 on the Créature label. Led by Jonathan Morali, the band drew attention from the start with End & Start Again thanks to intimate folk, a warm voice and melodies with a distinctive timbre. At the Big Band Café in Hérouville-Saint-Clair on 5 November 2026, Morali and his musicians will unveil these unreleased tracks and revisit a repertoire that defined the 2000s, with songs such as “Black & White Eyes,” “Obstacles,” “To All Of You” and “I Might Float.” On stage, Syd Matters plays on contrasts — between soft, muted guitars, gauzy keyboards and harmonies that settle effortlessly — leaving space for the songs. After several years composing for visual media, notably the soundtrack to Life Is Strange, Jonathan Morali returns to the live format with a set designed to reconnect with listening and intimacy. It will be an opportunity to explore his universe, at once familiar and evolving, carried by songs old and new.
