Biohazard

On 11 July 2026, Biohazard will play at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The Brooklyn band forged, in the late 1980s, its own hybrid of hardcore, thrash metal and hip‑hop, rooted in New York’s street culture. With their eponymous debut (1990) and Urban Discipline (1992) Biohazard set the tone: massive riffs, driving rhythms and the alternation between shouted vocals and rapped passages. State of the World Address (1994) and Mata Leão (1996) continued that line, while the collaboration with Onyx on the Judgment Night soundtrack made the link to rap explicit. Afterwards came albums such as New World Disorder, Uncivilization, Kill or Be Killed, Means to an End and Reborn in Defiance, with lineup changes along the way and breaks for solo projects. On stage the focus is that hybrid NYHC approach: compact, no‑nonsense songs, tight breaks and vocals that alternate between barking shouts and rap flow. Expect a set drawing from multiple phases of their catalogue, from raw primal force to heavier metal accents, played with the direct energy that has always been central to Biohazard.
