Info
Winner of the Prix des Musiques d’Ici 2024 and a favorite of the Académie Charles Cros, Dendana carves a distinctive path between blues, rock and Saharan heritage. An Algerian singer-songwriter, he brings Gnawa rhythms into dialogue with blues melodies, anchoring his lyrics between exile and belonging. After four albums, including Chadi Madi, he returns with a new work that reopens the notebook of memories to confront them with the present, sung in French as well as in Darija.
On stage he pares things down to the essentials: a guitar that sets the pace, a voice that carries the stories and establishes the atmosphere. His set moves between tension and release, rough riffs and desert-like pulses, with a way of sliding tradition into very contemporary forms without letting it calcify into mere folklore. Each piece is heard like a stopover, between intimate crossings and an earthy groove, driven by direct songwriting and melodies that linger in the mind.
Dendana presents this new live show on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Babour Sauvage, 59 boulevard Macdonald, Paris 19th arrondissement. A musical crossing between two shores, crafted for the stage and for those who appreciate bridges between modernity and memory.
