Jack Botts

On 19 September 2026 Jack Botts will play at Patronaat in Haarlem. The songwriter from Australia’s east coast brings acoustic folk with a surf-tinge, nourished by the beach culture he grew up in. Since the late 2010s he has toured almost continuously, first in his own country and later across Europe and North America. That freedom of movement is reflected in his lyrics: the road, relationships, changes of course and a life close to the ocean form the common thread.

His songs center on a prominent acoustic guitar, melodies that are accessible yet slightly melancholic, and a gentle voice that carries the stories. After several EPs he crystallized his sound in 2023 with Sucker For Sunsets, an album that brings together his love of travel and coastal landscapes without losing the intimacy of his earlier work.

Live, Botts often performs solo or with a compact band. At Patronaat he keeps his songs close to their roots, leaving enough room to open them up toward a clear folk-pop sound while preserving the core — intimacy and storytelling. Expect a set that gradually unfolds and carries you along that long, salty horizon. An opening act will provide the warm-up.
