Rush

On 2 March 2027, Rush will take the stage at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg. The Canadian trio, formed in Toronto in 1968 and—since 1974—in its classic lineup of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart, blends hard rock, progressive rock and, at times, heavy-metal energy. It is characterized by long song forms, shifting time signatures and a precise sense of melody. The lyrics, largely written by Neil Peart, revolve around science fiction, introspection and social themes, without losing the narrative thread.

From their bluesy debut through the conceptual 2112 and the focused drive of Moving Pictures to the more synth-heavy Signals, the band repeatedly shifted its sonic palette; in the 1990s and 2000s, guitars returned to the forefront with Vapor Trails and Clockwork Angels. Live, the power-trio format carries the songs without excess: bass, guitar, drums and occasional synths interlock tightly, moving between extended passages and pointed choruses. In Hamburg the emphasis is on precise ensemble playing and clear structures—direct, dense and focused on the song.
