On 10 May 2026 Sven Hammond will be at Musis Arnhem with a set centred on the Hammond organ, groove and interplay. Under the leadership of keyboardist Sven Figee, the Dutch band has been developing its own blend of soul, funk and rock since the late 2000s, with touches of jazz here and there. Live, the organ is central: propulsive riffs, a taut rhythm section and arrangements that leave room for collective improvisation. The repertoire moves smoothly between instrumental pieces and vocal tracks, and—depending on the project—can be augmented by a singer and brass.

In the hall the collective sound comes to the fore: tight drum-and-bass patterns, guitar lines that add colour, and warm organ tones that hold everything together. The band plays compactly where possible and lets themes breathe when required, with dynamics and timing sharpened on clubs and festivals across Europe. No excess—rather a focus on groove, melody and interaction: exactly the terrain where Sven Hammond feels at home.
