Nitzer Ebb

On 5 April 2026 Nitzer Ebb will play at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. The British duo around vocalist Douglas McCarthy and programmer Bon Harris established a tight, minimalist EBM style in the early 1980s from Chelmsford: icy sequencers, hard percussion and slogans that reverberate through your body. With That Total Age (1987) the band immediately found a place in the clubs, followed by Belief (1989), Showtime (1990) and Ebbhead (1991), often with producer Flood at the controls. Numerous tours, including support slots for Depeche Mode, firmly placed their sound between electronic and post‑industrial scenes.

After the more guitar‑oriented turn on Big Hit (1995) things went quiet for a while, until their return to the stage and the release of Industrial Complex (2010). Live, Nitzer Ebb is all about the physical groove: driving patterns, tight breaks, vocals that cut and arrangements without frills. Expect a set that races through their entire catalogue, from early club tracks to later favourites, with that distinctive mix of machine‑funk and industrial energy that has influenced generations of producers and DJs.
