Eefje de Visser

On 20 March 2026 Eefje de Visser performs at TR25 Schouwburg - Theater Rotterdam, Rotterdam. The Dutch singer-songwriter writes and sings in Dutch, and in her songs she plays with the rhythm and timbre of the language. Since De koek (2011) her sound has gradually shifted: from intimate folk and chanson to a more atmospheric pop, with slow pulses, choral layers and electronic textures that shape the nocturnal character of her music. On albums such as Het is, Nachtlicht and Bitterzoet you can hear how melodies and synths interlock, leaving space for repetition and detail.

Live, Eefje translates this with a band into a physical set where the voice remains central. Warm synths, subtle percussion and layered harmonies build tension without relinquishing the melody. Songs are stretched, breathe, and tilt from stillness into motion, as if club and theatre meet halfway. The lightness lies in the melody, the weight in the production; together they place her songs in a clear, new frame. Expect no bombastic gestures, but a carefully constructed flow in which lyrics, timbre and groove gradually come to the fore.
