Gare du Nord: Encore! 25th anniversary tour

On 6 March 2026 Gare du Nord lands at Patronaat in Haarlem with the Encore! 25th Anniversary Tour. The project around Barend Fransen and Ferdi Lancee emerged in the early 2000s at the intersection of the Dutch and Belgian scenes and grew from a studio duo into a flexible live band. From their debut In Search of Excellounge (2001) the group has focused on slow grooves, soul- and blues-tinged accents, jazz harmonies and cinematic atmospheres, as if composing imaginary soundtracks. With albums such as Sex ’n’ Jazz (2007) and Love for Lunch (2009), Gare du Nord deepened that blend of urban jazz, subtle funk and mellow pop, giving an increasingly prominent role to female voices, including recurring singer Dorona Alberti.

On stage the band moves between downtempo lounge and more groove-driven pieces, where warm electronics merge with an organic band sound. For this anniversary tour Gare du Nord delves into twenty-five years of repertoire: from songs that live audiences have continued to request to the more cinematic tracks that found their way into films and series. Music on the border of jazz, gentle electronics and evocative instrumentals, stripped back to the essentials and played with the assurance of a band that knows its own story inside out.
