Cœur de Pirate

Cœur de Pirate, the stage name of Béatrice Martin, will perform on 5 March 2026 at Melkweg in Amsterdam. The Canadian singer-songwriter builds her French-language pop around the piano: earworm melodies, lyrics that sit close to the skin, and a sound that navigates between chanson, pop and subtle electronic accents. Since the breakthrough with Comme des enfants she expanded her palette with Blonde, an album with more tempo and drive, and Roses, in which her songwriting acquired a more modern sheen. Afterwards the focus shifted to the intimate with En cas de tempête, ce jardin sera fermé and Perséides, while she also composed for the visual medium, notably the soundtrack for the video game Child of Light.

Live, Cœur de Pirate centers the piano and places classics alongside more recent material in spare, direct arrangements. Songs are delivered with precision, leaving room for dynamics and subtle textural shifts so that melody and voice carry the story. The concert traces her path from bright pop hooks to hushed confession, without losing the core: songs that articulate emotions precisely and evoke a strong atmosphere with simple lines.
