Lucky Fonz III + support: Lange Mannen Met Haast

On April 9, 2026 Lucky Fonz III will perform at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen. Nijmegen-born songwriter Otto Wichers has, since the mid-2000s, navigated between folk, pop and the Dutch singer-songwriter tradition. His early records, including Lucky Fonz III, Life Is Short and A Family Like Yours, were released in English and embody a spare indie-folk style with small, personal stories. With Hoe je honderd wordt zonder dat je het merkt he switched to Dutch, bringing his songs closer to home without giving up his storytelling thread.

He followed that with In je nakie, Hemellichamen and Multimens, albums where the horizon opens up with a light touch of cabaret, a streak of Americana and melodies that linger. Live, Lucky Fonz III threads his songs together with short asides and deadpan observations, one moment small and intimate, the next more playful and grand in gesture. On stage he draws on his early English-language work as well as his Dutch-language albums. Support comes from Lange Mannen Met Haast.
