Wibi Soerjadi

On 19 July 2026 pianist Wibi Soerjadi will give a garden recital at Villa Peckedam in Diepenheim. The Dutch pianist of Indonesian heritage trained at conservatories in the Netherlands and has become a fixture on concert stages, with a particular focus on the Romantic repertoire. This programme features works by Liszt, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Schumann, interspersed with his own compositions and his piano transcriptions of orchestral themes.

Soerjadi has long alternated recitals, concerto appearances and recordings; in this intimate setting that breadth is condensed. Virtuosic pieces sit alongside more restrained works, standard repertoire alongside personal compositions. The garden setting brings the performance close to the audience and exposes the nuances of tone and timing. No detours: solo piano placing the nineteenth century alongside the present, with room for colour, melody and clearly constructed arcs of tension.
