Pink Project

On 2 October 2026, Pink Project is scheduled to perform at Poppodium P60 in Amstelveen. This Italian Italo-disco project from the early 1980s uses a cut-and-paste approach: motifs from progressive rock and electronic pop are reworked into club format, driven by drum machines, sequencers and pulsing synth basslines. Not a classic verse–chorus structure, but medleys that unfold step by step, guided by repetition, loops and gradual build-ups.

Live, this means a continuous set that keeps rolling: quotations and melodies referencing, among others, Pink Floyd and The Alan Parsons Project are folded into tight grooves, with long transitions, breakdowns and new layers sliding in. The focus is on texture, timbre and timing, as if a studio edit were being stretched out on the spot. The show places dancefloor logic at its core and reconnects with the nascent DJ culture that gave rise to Pink Project. An evening where Italo, electro and rock references intersect, with the club vibe as the point of departure.
