Info
Tonight Alive will play at Patronaat in Haarlem on 27 May 2026. The Australian band fronted by singer Jenna McDougall emerged in the late 2000s from Sydney’s all-ages pop‑punk scene and early on found its own balance between melodic hooks, punk‑rock energy and post‑hardcore accents. Their debut What Are You So Scared Of? (2011) set the tone; The Other Side (2013) moved toward tighter-written choruses and a more introspective bent. With Limitless (2016) they explored a more open, alternative rock sound with greater space and atmosphere, while Underworld (2018) returned to heavier guitars and a darker, more personal edge. Meanwhile, “The Edge” appeared on the soundtrack of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, broadening their reach beyond the scene.
After an extended hiatus, Tonight Alive return to the stage with a set that summarizes their trajectory: early pop‑punk alongside later, atmospheric, tension‑building passages. Tight dynamics, measured intensity and McDougall’s direct vocal delivery are central, from the driving songs of their early years to material in which the band breathes more expansively. It’s an opportunity to hear both old favourites and the evolution of their sound live.
