Info
On 30 April 2026 the New Horizon Tour lands at Patronaat in Haarlem: Don Carlos shares the bill with Geo. Don Carlos, born Carlo Troja near Varese, has been DJing since the late 1970s and moved into production at the end of the 1980s. With the single “Alone” on Calypso/Irma he established his distinctive deep house, fueled by African-American jazz, electronic soul, disco and a touch of progressive. In the early 1990s he released the albums Mediterraneo (1992) and Aqua (1993) on Irma USA, worked on the Montego Bay project with Stefano Tirone, and issued tracks such as “Aquanauts” on Chicago’s Guidance Records. In the UK he came to prominence with “You Make Me Feel” featuring Byron Stingily, a cover of Sylvester. In the 2000s he released on Subliminal Soul, played shows across Europe including Ministry of Sound and Turnmills, and released the album Music in My Mind (2001) featuring, among others, Kim Mazelle, Michelle Weeks, Taka Boom and Kevin Bryant. After compilations and a quiet period he returned with The Cool Deep, a collection of deep house productions that originated in those years. Live, Don Carlos digs through his catalogue, linking older tracks with more recent material, with smooth grooves and clear house lines. Together with Geo he brings the New Horizon Tour to Patronaat — an evening focused on the depth and momentum of the dancefloor.
