Info
Canadian rapper, singer and producer K-OS brings his hybrid hip-hop to Pearl Showroom in Edmonton on March 8, 2026. Born Kevin Brereton, he built his own lane by folding melodic hooks and live-minded arrangements into sharp rhymes, drawing freely from soul, reggae and rock. His breakthrough Exit (2002) set the tone, followed by Joyful Rebellion and Atlantis: Hymns for Disco, where boom-bap drums meet guitars and reflective writing. Yes!, the double-sided BLack on BLonde and Can't Fly Without Gravity pushed that blend further, switching between gritty bounce and shimmering choruses.
On stage, K-OS slips easily from MC to singer, stretching grooves, flipping tempos and weaving pop culture nods into introspective verses. The show leans on that balance: rap energy grounded in organic textures, chorus lines you can carry, and rhythms that shift without losing the thread. A set that spans early favorites and later cuts, delivered with the looseness of a bandleader and the focus of a beatmaker, tracing a path through two decades of Canadian alternative hip-hop.
