Dead Meadow

Dead Meadow land in Toronto on April 22, 2026 at The Garrison with their slow-burning blend of heavy psych, stoner rock and hazy folk tones. Formed in Washington, D.C. in 1998 from the orbit of The Impossible Five and Colour, the trio first coalesced around guitarist-singer Jason Simon and bassist Steve Kille with Mark Laughlin à la batterie. From the start, their sound leaned on saturated riffs, trance-like repetition and vocals that drift somewhere between mantra and melody, folding 70s-weighted guitars into 60s psychedelia and blues slowed to a crawl.

Across a catalog that runs from Dead Meadow (2000) and Howls from the Hills (2001) to Shivering King and Others (2003), Feathers (2005), Warble Womb (2013), The Nothing They Need (2018) and Force Form Free (2022), the band has stretched their palette without losing the pulse: long instrumental passages, hypnotic bass figures, fuzz that blooms then recedes, and lyrics haunted by myth and weird fiction.
