Funky Times - Plauen

Funky Times are heading out on a European tour again in 2026. On 10 April 2026 at the Malzhaus in Plauen, the German funk trio will show why short clips have grown into a genuine live project. Since 2020 the band has been driving forward a mix of bouncy bass work, precise guitar riffs, punchy clavinet and organ solos, and a soulful voice — funk with clear roots in the 1970s, freshly reassembled for today.

After an extensive European run in 2025, the group continues its journey. On stage Funky Times rely on dynamics and sheer joy: tight grooves, call-and-response between keys and guitar, brief forays into improvisation, always with a focus on timing and the urge to move. Early support came from Candy Dulfer, who presented the band on her show Candy’s World and invited them to Amsterdam for her concert series Candy’s Choice — a step that made the transition from viral phenomenon to a well-drilled live band visible.

In Plauen you can expect a compact set that balances pointed funk songs and open jam moments, carried by virtuosic interplay and that direct, unassuming energy that puts the groove front and center.
