On March 2, 2026 at Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary, William Prince brings his Further From the Country Tour. The Manitoba-born singer-songwriter, member of the Peguis First Nation, works in a stripped acoustic register where the voice leads and the story sets the pace. Between intimate folk and country shaded by gospel, his songs trace a path from Earthly Days (2015) through Reliever and Gospel First Nation (2020) to Stand in the Joy (2023). On stage, he favors solo or small-ensemble formats that leave room for his low timbre and direct, narrative writing, with themes of family, loss, faith and belonging at the core.
Also on the bill, Boy Golden comes from the Winnipeg scene with a mix of country, folk rock and americana touched by a light psych hue. Since Church of Better Daze (2021) and For Jimmy (2023), his songwriting leans on warm vocal harmonies, guitar and keyboard arrangements, and an easy-going groove. Stories of the road, short-lived communities and modest personal quests shape his set, offering a complementary take on the roots sound that frames the night.
