Info

Ontario-born songwriter Cat Clyde brings her folk-and-roots blend to the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto on May 31, 2026. Her writing leans on voice-first storytelling, fingerpicked guitars and a sparse, acoustic palette where blues, country and Americana meet. Since Ivory Castanets (2017) introduced her mix of folk and blues with a vintage tint, she has widened the frame: Hunters Trance (2019) flirted with electric and psych textures, Blue Blue Blue (2020) with Jeremie Albino explored the duo format, Good Bones (2022) pared favorites back to their essentials, and Down Rounder (2023) traced a line between slow-bloom folk ballads, bluesy turns and laid-back rock.

On stage, Clyde keeps arrangements lean and close, letting timbre and phrasing carry the songs. She shifts from hushed narratives to rougher blues pulses without leaving the acoustic core, using space and dynamics more than volume. The set typically weaves early material with newer cuts, highlighting a songwriting thread that favors grain, groove and unadorned melodies.
