Info
April Wine hits Scotiabank Centre in Halifax on 28 April 2026 with the melodic hard rock that shaped their path through the 70s and 80s. Formed in Halifax before relocating to Montreal, the band built its sound on harmonized guitars, radio-friendly choruses and slow-burn ballads, long anchored by the songwriting of Myles Goodwyn. On stage, they draw across the catalogue: early cuts from April Wine, On Record and Electric Jewels, the tighter punch of Stand Back and First Glance, the contrasts of The Nature of the Beast and Power Play, and later material from Attitude and Frigate.
Riffs meet clean hooks, tempos shift from straight-ahead rockers to mid-tempo singalongs, and the set leans on the band’s classic arrangements and guitar interplay. Staples like I Like to Rock, Sign of the Gypsy Queen and Just Between You and Me still hold the centre, framed by deeper tracks that trace more than five decades of Canadian rock history. A homecoming of sorts, in the city where it all started.
