Silversun Pickups - Tenterhooks Tour

Silversun Pickups bring the Tenterhooks Tour to Calgary on March 4, 2026 at The Palace Theatre. Formed in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, the quartet has built a sound where saturated guitars and shoegaze textures meet a more atmospheric, dream-pop edge. Brian Aubert’s airy vocals cut through dense layers, while Nikki Monninger anchors the songs with melodic bass lines. Christopher Guanlao’s drumming drives from nervous bursts to supple grooves, and Joe Lester’s keyboards and electronics thread through the arrangements with subtle shifts in tone.

On stage, the band moves between fuzzed-out surges and quieter, suspended moments, stitching early cuts from Carnavas and Swoon to later turns on Neck of the Woods, Better Nature and Widow’s Weeds, through to Physical Thrills. Over the years, they’ve folded in more synths and rhythmic nuance without losing the grain of their guitar work. The show plays that balance: noise versus space, thick riffs against drifting melodies, songs that open up live with feedback washes, looping motifs and dynamic builds before snapping back into focus. Two decades in, Silversun Pickups still sound restless, precise and unforced, with a set that traces their path while pointing forward.
