Info
On June 28, 2026 at Casino Nova Scotia in Halifax, Steve Earle presents 51 Years of Songs & Stories, a journey through a catalogue that has shaped American songwriting across folk, country, rock and bluegrass. Raised in Texas and forged in the Nashville scene of the 1970s, Earle broke through with Guitar Town in 1986, then pushed into a more electric, narrative-driven vein with Exit 0 and Copperhead Road, songs steeped in rural lives, veterans’ tales and the edges of society. The mid-1990s marked a turn to a leaner, more acoustic writing on Train a Comin’, I Feel Alright and El Corazon, before a bluegrass detour with the Del McCoury Band on The Mountain.
Over the 2000s he sharpened a political voice on Jerusalem and The Revolution Starts… Now, while continuing to honor his roots with tribute records like Townes and Jerry Jeff. Based later in New York, Earle has balanced records, writing and occasional acting without losing the plainspoken storytelling at the heart of his songs.
This show threads those decades together in an intimate format where the music meets the backstory: characters, places and moments that fed the songs, from the early honky-tonk spark to later acoustic and bluegrass shades. A rare chance to hear the work and the stories from the songwriter himself, across five decades of road-tested material.
