The Rock Orchestra By Candlelight

On March 20, 2026, at Place TD in Ottawa, The Rock Orchestra by Candlelight presents its hybrid program. This rotating ensemble of 14 classically trained musicians—instrumentalists and singers—reinterprets rock and metal anthems within an intimate, candlelit setting. Riffs and choruses are reworked into string lines, vocal harmonies and layered textures, while at moments the arrangements surge into heavier, overdriven passages, creating a conversation between chamber subtleties and amplified intensity.

The repertoire includes music by Metallica, AC/DC, Rage Against the Machine, My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, System of a Down, Guns N’ Roses, Evanescence, Aerosmith and The Cranberries, all orchestrated with attention to both memorable hooks and sonic weight. Expect dramatic contrasts: quiet openings, sudden crescendos and full-ensemble climaxes, with melodies brought forward and textures thickened where the material calls for it.
